In 2012, we took a significant step by launching our Facebook business page and blog. This move was more than just establishing an online presence; it was about providing valuable content to homebuyers and sellers. My continuous blogging on topics relevant to our audience quickly propelled us to the top ranks among agents in Halifax.

 

2014: Pioneering Marketing Innovation

The year 2014 marked a pivotal moment for us. I not only witnessed the evolution of The Pike Group but also spearheaded a change in the marketing landscape of Halifax. I introduced walk-through videos for our sellers, a practice that has since become the norm for most agents in the city. 2017: A Meeting with Facebook Messenger

As we continued to grow, our reach expanded beyond borders. While speaking to an audience of 6,000 agents internationally about the merits of social media advertising, I had the honor of being introduced to the head of Facebook Messenger in California. This encounter led to us becoming the first agents in the world to integrate Messenger on our website. It was a testament to our commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements in the real estate industry.

Of all the crazy things I could do, I launched a new career at the age of 40 in a city that I only knew a handful of people.  What was I thinking?

Reminiscing of the day I joined real estate in July 2010, I knew this was going to be the career for me. Work hard. Hustle. Grind. Verbs and Adjectives, that were very familiar to me over the years in anything I set out to do.  Real Estate was going to be no different.

Over the span of my career, I was able to set and meet several milestones that would place me apart from most agents.

Who would have thought I would find the love of my life in my late 40s.  Ben and I have been together since late 2017.  If there was ever a man who not only challenged me to grow, inspires me to be everything I can while making me laugh, it is certainly this guy.

We moved to West Bedford in 2021 with our 2 puppies Daisy and Buttons.  You can find us hanging out in the kitchen entertaining our neighbours or out back enjoying the yard.

We have won several accolades over the years, from Atlantic Canada’s Top Team to Nationally ranking at 1% within Royal LePage Canada. Since 2014 I have been one of Metro’s TOP 3 ranking agents.

2012 was the launching of Facebook Business.  By continuous blogging and growth of sphere I quickly shot up the ranks within the agents of Halifax.

In 2014, not only did The Pike Group evolve, we were the first agents to change the course of marketing for Halifax.  We began the introduction of walk thru videos for our sellers. Which as you can attest, is the norm for most agents here in the city.

Fast forward to 2017 while speaking internationally to 6000 agents the merits of social media advertising, I found myself being introduced to the head of Facebook Messenger in California who granted us the use of Messenger on our website.  We were the first agents EVER in the world to have this application.  It truly was an honor.

2018 through to 2019 allowed us the opportunity to engage with Artificial Intelligence not only for branding purposes but to get maximum social exposure for our seller’s listings.

 
 

A FEW THINGS ABOUT ME

I am a native Newfoundlander who is the only child of Martha and Joe. My background is very humbling.  My Mother worked at our local fishplant and my Father at the shipyard.  If I was to learn anything as a child, it was to: Work hard. Stay Focused.  Be happy and above all, it was to believe in yourself.

In 1988, I left the Rock in pursuit of becoming a police officer.  The Ontario lights were calling.  It was in Ontario that I decided to pursue university then college.  Once graduating from Law and Security, I worked in group homes learning conflict crisis resolution.  It was during this time, I realized I did not have the courage to pursue a career in law enforcement.

Fast forward 20 years, to a move that would find me living back in Atlantic Canada where I began my real estate career.

I am a firm believer in who we were yesterday, makes us who we are today.  I have overcome many challenges and climbed many mountains to be where I am no.  No regrets, only a sense of gratitude and appreciation.

For those of you who know me, appreciate that I am overly competitive and love to win.  However, I will tell you my biggest win in real estate is time spent with my family; one thing I have never taken for granted.
